U2: 'STUCK IN A MOMENT YOU CAN'T GET OUT OF' [RETRO-RESEÑA]

 

A la espera de lo nuevo de U2 —que en teoría será publicado a finales de este mismo año—, me parece que es un buen momento para disfrutar del simpático vídeo de Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of. Eso a propósito del plano visual, pues si nos centramos en lo sonoro, la canción del álbum All That You Can’t Leave Behind (2000) es una de las mejores de la banda irlandesa.

Un momento, ¿he escrito "vídeo" en singular? Mal por mi parte porque dos fueron los vídeos que vieron la luz allá por 2001. En primero se emitió en Estados Unidos y parodia un partido de fútbol americano; un jugador sufre en sus carnes el título entrando en bucle... Por cierto,  el deporte no es el único objeto de “sátira”, también lo es la propia banda. Los nombres de los equipos, 'Flys' y 'Lemons' son los de un par de temas de los 90 —The Fly (1991) y Lemon (1993)—, así como el del entrenador del primero de ellos, Dave Evans, el nombre real del guitarrista The Edge. Igual de llamativa resulta la alusión del comentarista a Sunday Bloody Sunday en su presentación del partido. En el segundo vídeo, correspondiente a la versión internacional, el protagonista no será un deportista, sino el mismísimo Bono quien descubra lo que es sufrir...
